Try changing the ignition relay,or put your finger on each relay while the buzzing is going on,and find the one that is vibrating most ie..(buzzing!!!)

i know this is an old post but this is happening to my truck to, ford expedition 2003, after swapping the relays i can get it to work but now is happening more often about once a week, sometimes i have to swamp several times until it starts. Any suggestions?
Do you know how to test automotive electrical circuits ? Using a volt meter an wiring diagram to locate problems ?

Click the search button then the blue link . The buzzing sound you hear may be the starter relay , do you know what a relay is ? Behind the right side kick panel , this is where the front passengers right foot would be next to . Pull the plastic cover and behind is the central junction box. That kind of noise is almost always from a dead battery. Remove the battery and take it to a Autozone parts store or other store like them and have them test it on a special battery load and cell tester they have. The test is free.
Its the relay in the fuse box by the passenger side floor board. Remove the kick plate and its either white relay on the top (one is mounted horizontal on the right or rear position and vertical on the front or left. Its $6 bucks at Auto zone. You can switch both of them around and the truck will start and run till you get the replacement. Steve
check your computer under the hood and make sure none of those fuses are blown. Also, can the vehicle be jump started. I have a 2000 expedition that did that and a fuse was blown under the hood.
