Will not shift from park to drive, I believe it

Will not shift from park to drive, I checked fuses and disconnected the battery and reconnected 10 minutes later to see if that reset the computer.

It could possibly be the safety lock inside your shifter. If it is, then this will be a mechanical problem, not electrical. Hope this helps.

2004 SSR shifte r problem shifted in Rev then tried to back to drive just just slides then depresseed button and put in park now button will not depress and stuck in park and now will not start

Can you disconnect the power at the battery? When you reconnect it follow the guide lines of the owner's manual in 'change battery' section.

I have a 1998 cadillac deville concours , the shift indicator light in the dash blinks in park do you have anything on this ?

I have seen this to be a false code before....First make sure trans fluid is at correct level and no leaks..,make sure it shifts correctly while driving...Set park brake, wear safety glasses..Disconnect Negative battery cable for 10 seconds to clear code and reset computer...Reconnect and then test drive...If light stays off it was a false code...It could be a simple problem but save time and money and have it scanned at dealer...

Make sure you have brake lights, they system must see the brakes applied before the park lock will release. make sure the fuse you installed is good and has 12 volts at both sides of the fuse.

The shifter will not release from park, is it the cable, electrical or what

Hello,

Check to make that the brake lights are working - shift interlock is in the same circuit - could be a bad fuse.

You can try turning the key (with engine off) o

to the first position (Unlock) shift to neutral to start vehicle and then shift to "Drive or Reverse"

Thanks

The "S" light comes on

I have the same problems and it's a real pain but I was told by a Honda mechanic that he unhooked the battery cable and put it back on and it resets the indicator. It works for a little while but it has to be done over and over. When the indicator gets reset, it also releases the gear shift lock. I loosen the left side battery cable to the point where it will hold in place but can be lifted off without having to loosen the bolt. It seems to work best if you do this after parking it for the night and hooking it back up in the morning. I'd like to figure out how to fix it permanently but haven't gotten there yet.

2006 BMW 323i Passnger Door lock will not lock / unlock w/ remote

Replace fuse 57 (15 amp) then disconnect battery and wait 30 to 45 minutes before reconnecting the battery.

My 2006 BMW 325I had the same problem with the door locks not responding. I checked all related fuses and found #57 (15 amp) was the only related fuse blown. I put in a new fuse and it still would not work. I then disconnected the battery for a while then once I reconnected the battery everything worked fine.

I believe I blew the fuse while repeatedly pushing the unlock button rapidly while walking across the parking lock to the car. I suggest only pushing the unlock button only once or twice.

Can't get car out of park!!

This may seem like a silly solution but it's worth a try if it gets you out of this jam. I believe the Kia has a safety feature where it won't let you shift the car out of park unless the break peddle is fully depressed. Try stomping on the break peddle while you start the car. Then see if it will let you shift out of park. If this doesn't work try pumping the break peddle a few times and try it again. If this doesn't work check the fuse box. Maybe the fuse for the actuator in the gear shift lever that lets you take it out of park is burnt out. I hope this helps you out.
