I have a 2004 Honda Odys with a DVD player which became jammed when two DVDs were inserted at the same time. We have removed the DVDs but the unit no longer plays DVDs...can we get this fixed or do we need to buy a new DVD unit. We were able to remove the unit from the dash.... Thanks.

Most DVD players have a tiny hole on the front to mechanically push the internals to eject stuck DVDs. If the player does light up, sometime a thump with your fist is enough to jolt the mechanism. Failing that, you have to remove the player to get the DVD out.

may need clened because its not recognising a disc.. get a can of dvd spray with the tube on it(like dusting spray) and insert the tube and inch or so inside the slot..spray short bursts of spray into the unit..wait a minute or so and retry..repost findings..

try putting in cd/dvd lens cleaner, those cd's with brush attached to it.

It's located under and behind the dashboard glove box.

a cd player in a car takes some hammering(use wise)so when they go wrong replace it(cost of repair more than unit cost....)easy to remove/replace.

Unplug the battery for one hour and plug back it, it should work.

I had the EXACT same thing happen with my 2 year-old and our 2006 Odyssey last week! I drove to the dealer today to have them remove it and after banging hard on the side of the DVD player for several minutes, they said it was really stuck and I would have to pay $400 to have the DVD player removed and sent to a repair center. What!?!?!

I came home and decided to try the tweezer idea. I am not handy and I'm eight months pregnant so I couldn't get as close as I would have liked to the DVD player but as soon as I propped the little rubber doors open with the tweezers to take a peek, I saw both DVDs!! I pulled the top DVD out in about 3 seconds. I then turned my car on and the second DVD popped right out!! :) I put the DVD back in to make sure everything worked and it did. I CANNOT believe I was considering spending $400 AND be without a DVD player for weeks while they shipped it off. The DVD I pulled out has a scratch from where the tweezers were holding on to it but it's on the very outside of the DVD and if I do need to replace it, ... we're talking $10-$20 rather than $400 . Sooooo glad I didn't listen to the dealer this time!!! :)

sound like the dvd player need to be change if not under warranty easly get one from a junk yard for a fraction of the cost.
