I have a 2003 chevy blazerthat has power steering problem no leak

I have a 2003 chevy blazer 2 wheel drive. I am having problems with the power steering. the power steering seems to work fin at speed but when you are stopped it seems to cease up quite abit as if it has lost powere steering all together. It seems to come back in a few seconds but is very difiicult for my sister to try and turn the steering wheel. the fluid level is fine in the reservoir and there does not appear to be any leaks. any help is appreciated. thanks

Sounds like the drive belt is loose or the pump is not developing enough pressure at low speed.

Check the tension of the belt that drives the PS pump, since it is working at higher revs, which points to this type of problem. The belt should be quite stiff and possible to push it maybe a half inch in the middle of the longest run. Any more means it is too slack.

Tensioning may involve loosening the pump mount bolts and swinging the pump away from the engine till the belt is firm, and tightening the bolts.

Overtightened belts can wear bearings out prematurely though, don't go nuts with the tension!

If the belt is ok, and you aren't losing fluid, the pump is on its way out, or the rack seals are bypassing fluid back to the pump too quickly.

There is a "pressure regulator" located in the pump just behind the high pressure line that directs high pressure fluid to the steering rack when you turn the steering wheel. It sounds like the regulator valve is sticking and not sending the high pressure fluid to the steering rack when you turn the wheel.
You can remove the pump and clean the valve, reinstall the pump and flush the steering system with fresh fluid or replace the pump and flush the system with new fluid.
Good luck.

2002 chevy blazer steering wheel squeaks bad while turning

It the "squeaking coming from the steering wheel itself, or from the vehicle when the wheel is being turned? If it is the wheel itself, the only ting you can do to remedy that is to disassemble the steering column to lubricate the insides. If it is the vehicle that squeaks/squeals when the wheel is turned, then it is probably one of three things. From most likely to least likely they are:

1. Worn out/glazed serpentine (drive) belt
2. Defective belt tensioner
3. Defective power steering pump (or low fluid in reservoir).

A power steering pump will whine if it is low on fluid, when you turn the wheels you will hear the whine or if the power steering belt is to tight you will also hear the whine. You will not hear this whine when the truck is stopped.

If you have it in 4 wheel drive on dry ground, that's how they act. Leave it in 2 wheel drive as much as possible.
