I have a 1999 dodge ram with a 460. I have very little heat and there is a mist that comes out of the vents when i turn the heater on. I unhooked the heater hoses and ran water through the core and it ran through with no problem. about 2 years ago I changed the water pump and put in a new thermostat. Last week I changed it again thinking that it was a falty one. This didn't help. When the top hose is hot the bottom one is cold even after 15 minutes of constant running. Can this be a problem?

The hoses might have a heater control valve on one ofthem, check and see,an you may have to replace it.Also make sure there is enough coolant in the system,it will not flow threw the heater core if there is not enough coolant in the system, the mist could be the hole in the heater core.

You mean the blower motor doesn't come on , no air coming from the vents , changing the speed doesn't do anything ? Could be the blower motor is bad , blower motor relay , fuse # 12 40 amp in the under hood fuse box . Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free-tsb/ Under system click on HVAC , Subsystem ,HVAC controls will pop in . Videos on youtube for testing heater blower motor circuit .

2002 dodge ram no heat

You probably have a plugged heater core. If one hose is hot, and other one is quite a bit cooler or cooler, then you have a problem with flow through heater core. Try flushing it. I hope that will help.

Good Luck!

A/c is not cooling

If there's mist coming from the vents, it sounds like the heater core is leaking. Check the coolant level as well as the floor of the car for signs of dampness. You may also find the smell of coolant inside the car. If these signs are present, you should have the heater core replaced. Best of luck and post back with any other questions or concerns.

Heat blows "smoke" from vents

you need to replace your heater core... the smoke is from antifreeze getting into your blower motor .........
