First locate it. Then check for power. Some horns use the mounting bolt as a ground. Check this. A good ground is critical. Now if you have power and a good ground check the switch in the steering wheel. Last option is you may need a new horn. Try any auto parts store.

Wiring diagram

test your car's electrical system with a different horn, other than the possible faulty one or test the horn itself, outside the car with a different power source, this is to isolate which is faulty , the car's electrical system or the horn itself, if horn is faulty then replace it, if not check your wirings.

Horn stays on since I replaced the steering column on my 1984 chevy silverado

Remove horn pad button/switch.Screws in from the back. See if wire that goes to bottom of it is rubbing on shaft. If not the plastic insulator is not in correctly, missing or broken. It allows horn to get ground when you press on horn pad. Properly installed it pushes down & locks in place on the 2 tabs on its bottom.

Horn isnt workin not a fuse

There is a fuse for horn but probaby use for something else also. Did you look between the front grill and radiator space. You may need to go underneath and look up at and along the front of truck. It has to be there. Good luck! Oh! Please use proper jackstands!!!

I own a Chevrolet lumina two door year 1990.Why would I get smoke coming out of the steering column? Where you push to get the horn to operate it gets very warm. seems i had this trouble before but...

One problem I have had with smoke coming from the steering column is from the turn signal switch. The contacts get worn and for some reason it smokes and also gets hot!!!
Replace the turn signal switch and this should fix the problem.
