I have a 1999 Honda Odyssey. The remote will not open or lock doo

I have a 1999 Honda Odyssey. The remote will not lock or open my doors. If I manually close the driver's door lock then I can set the alarm. Could it be the door actuator on the driver's door that is not working.

It appears the driver's door lock controls everything with the remote. It won't open or close. If i manually open or close then the other locks work. I was thinking the actuator was bad and that it controls all the other locking mechanisms some how. then I can open when I'm in the car every lock except the driver door.

Honda odyssey door lock driver side

Pop off the door panels & remove the plastic film. There's a white plastic actuator attached to the lock. You can test for voltage from the connector, but unlikely that's the problem. My symptom was the actuator was moving but not actually locking. It turned out mine was loose and I fixed mine by just reattaching the actuator. There's several screws holding it in there and mine came loose. Use lock-tite because it came loose a second time. If the motor isn't functioning then if you disassemble the actuator you might be able to search on EBay for a motor - the rear tailgate uses a Mabuchi. Otherwise you will need to replace the actuator. The rear one is about $80 online.

I have a Honda Odyssey 2001. The car's front passanger door can not be opened from outside. Remote control lock and unlock function is ok and the door can be opened from inside. Can you suggest wh

you have to take off the door panel and look. most often the linkage comes off of the outside handle; sometimes something is broken. It will be a mystery no more when you remove the door panel and look.

The master door lock of my 2006 Odyssey doesn't close all doors any more. where is the problem? Have no clue!

You will need the system scanned for fault codes by the dealer or a shop that can test Honda products.

My remote for my honda odyssey won't work, I

The following URL will take you to an on-line manual for your Odyssey. You will need Adobe Reader (free from Adobe) to read it, and you can't save it except in sections, but you could print out whatever info you need. The remote is covered on page 81 (go there from the index). You might check to see if you got the polarity right on the battery change, then it might become a matter or replacing the remote.

2002 Honda Odyssey security alarm system

Make sure your hood is shut. I just got my 2002 Honda Odyssey back from the dealer today (90,000 mile check-up - I love my van and will drive it until it dies!) and when I went to lock the van with my remote transmitter, the lights didn't flash and the horn didn't sound. I open and closed all the doors and tailgate and I could hear that the doors were locked, but the security system wasn't working and that is why the lights didn't blink or the horn didn't sound. I walked up to the front of the van to check the hood to make sure it was closed (there isn't an indicator light for an open hood, only open doors) and the hood wasn't shut completely. Once I opened the hood and let it drop to securely shut, I hit the door lock button on the remote and everything worked like a charm! Hope this helps others in this predicament.
