Backfires usually caused either by timing or spark jumping issue, or, lean fuel mix. Might try starting at night with helper cranking and you look under hood (dark) for stray spark. Lean could be several things--coolant sensor, IAC stuck, bad converter or muffler, vacuum leaks, even leaking injector allowing excess fuel to drip into cylinder (I know, I said lean, but this can do it also)
It is possible you have bad spark plug wires. A good check would be to wait until it is dark out and open the hood then start the car and look under the hood to see if you have any arcing showing. If you do, replace the plug wires.
Sounds like a fuel pump issue. Under the hood you have a fuel pump relay.. try tradeing it with one if the others and see what happens. Inspect under the car to see if he dented anything like around the fuel tank. Other than this if you cant find anything then you will need to get it diagnosed professsionaly because we have no way to tell anything sight unseen. You may have a code stored which will help in daignosing. .Just about any part that needs replaceing will cost more than the diag,, thats why you need to have this looked at by someone in person
sounds like you may have a fuel delivery problem,There is a fuel regulator that keeps a steady pressure this may have the same tendencies as a fuel pump cavatating also,Have a good garage do a fuel flow test as well as a fuel pump pressure test.
