My radio will not play. It comes on, but no sound comes out. The Ipod shows track 000, when i switch to CD it shows LOAD, and the AM/FM buttons don't work at all. This happened about a month ago but fixed itself over a few days and now it's not working again. Is this a recall issue, or an internal issue? I have an 2006 with the radio with the color option.

SOURCE: Engine Knocking Noise

I don't think that the petrol quality will come up with this noise and also the engine is fairly new to have these sort of problems.. Have you run out of oil and used the car? I would suggest a computerised diagnostic if you are getting any error code on the dashboard. It is quite complicated to get an answer for your question...

Usually it is the drive unit for the CD. The linear tracking device that drives and guides the CD read laser is not tracking. Usually when this happens there is NO fixing it. You might just have to bite the bullet and get a new head unit.

We can't get the factory 6 disc cd player to load more than 1 disc. What is the sequence for loading additional discs?

The following is the owner's manual for your 2004 Dodge Neon:

http://www.dodge.com/en/owners/manuals/index.html?year=2004&nameplate=Neon

P.99 describes how to load discs:

1. Select and press any numbered button without an illuminated light above it.
2. Insert the CD while the light above the chosen button is flashing and the two lights on either side of the slot are illuminated.
3. Upon insertion, the CD will begin to play, and both the button light and the lights in the corner of the loading slot will illuminate.
4. Repeat the process for loading any additional CDs. The CD playe rwill stop while additional CDs are loaded.

Playing Discs
The radio will show the CD number, the CD track number, and the Track Time Elapsed while the radio is in the CD mode. IF more than one CD is loaded in the changer, the changer will automatically play the next disc after playing the last track of the current disc.

Wow, that's a lot of typing.
I didn't know the 2004 Dodge Neon had such a nice changer.
Good luck.

2008 Nissan Altima radio (AM/FM/CD) does not respond to buttons except on/off volume. It was playing an FM station (cant't tune/scan) and now plays a CD that won't eject.

2008 Altima radio-the sound just quit working. Everything else seems to be OK. I can change the radio stations, but no sound. Is there a fuse that could be bad?

I want to use my ipod in car but have no jack soket on cd to connect can i hardwire some sort of docking station to it ???. i have used fm transmitters but they all seem to crackle and im not impressed....

Will be ways cheeper buying a new car radio with an Line-input.
Check anyway if there isn't a line-input at the back. Then you could fix a jack female socket somewhere, connected to that line input.

I have come to find out that in the 90's auto makers started installing factory amplifiers in their cars so they could use low wattage stereos in the dash. It's usually a blue wire off the stereo that runs the amp, maybe it couldve become disconnected? I also know that even if you put in an after market stereo, this wire must be hooked up or you'll get no sound from the speakers. hope this helps.
