CHevy cobalt door locks- lock and unlock while I am driving had key fob reprogrammed and it was ok for about two hours and started all over again. What can the problem be?

Likely either a bad dash ground or bad body control module

Could be a problem in the shiftier. Your car doors lock automatically when you put the car in drive. They unlock when you put the car in park. The switch located in the shiftier can go bad causing the locks to randomly lock and unlock. Also, this can cause the key to get stuck in the ignition.

Had the same problem with locks locking and unlocking without pushing the lock button. The passenger door lock switch had not been locking or unlocking all the time when the button was pressed. I took the switch apart and cleaned the circuit board contacts and reassembled. Switch work great, locked and unlocked every time I pushed the button. BUT after a couple of minutes the lockes started locking and unlocking by themselves again. Unplugged the switch and hasn't done it again. More than likely the switch still has issues....

On the Chevy key fob, press and hold the "Unlock" and "Lock" buttons at the same time until you hear the door lock and unlock again. This means you're all set. Re-insert the programmed key back into the ignition to the "On" position to finish the Chevy key fob programming process

For about the last week or two, my car door locks just continually unlock, as if someone is pushing the unlock button on the key fob. It does this even when the keys are not it in, and while it's

Sounds like you have button to one of your door locks that is stuck, you remove door lock switches and disconnect 1 at a time to see which one it is. Over time a stuck switch will drain the battery it's sending voltage to all locks constantly, there's a switch tied to ignition switch on some models that locks door when you start the engine and unlocks doors when you shut the engine off, Chev. Suburbans have that

How do you reprogram a key fob to a 2008 chevy uplander?

There are no keyless entry remote self-programming instructions for the 2008 Chevy Uplander. You must get an Automotive Locksmith to program the remote to your vehicle for you.

I need to prograhm the key fob and also get the keypad code for the keyless entry

To program the fob; close all doors, unlock with door switch, turn key from off to on (without starting car) 8 times, ending in the on pos, the locks should lock and unlock then press the lock button on the fob, turn the key back. That should do it, if you get nothing, replace the battery in the fob. The keypad code is only retrievable through a scan tool. The dealer will charge a half hour to do that even though it takes less than 5 mins.

Program a remote key for 03 A6

I have an A4 and did this to re-program my key:

1. used the key to start the car...then turned it off
2. put the key in the driver door (door closed)
3. pressed the lock button on the key fob once
4. turned the key to lock the door.

This is basically the steps in the owners manual, but the car must be started with the key first, and the key must be in the door lock before pressing the lock button.
