Focus v reg ( Jan 2000 ) GHIA 2litre not hatchback. Trouble with central locking. all doors lock except passenger door. None of doors would lock until I disconnected Passenger door lock Cannot get lock unit out of door. can disconnect long rod for interior latch release and take out retaing screws ( 3 ) but cabbot disconnect short rods from exterior handle down to lock assembly. Need to take out lock unit to test electronics and replace if necessary

check your owners manual for the fuse listing and see if the fuse for the central locking has blown.

You need to check if the position of the hook is in line with the lock on the door. Also check the door hinges are not playing, if they do, need to change the hinges first

(door lock actuator)all doors have one in them, they weeken, and sometimes work to open, and some times to lock, or not at all. only fix is to replace each of them as they go out, usually cost abt 20 to 40 bucks a piece

IF CENTRAL LOCKING REMOVE THE DOORPANELS. 2 WIRE WILL B5E CONNCTED WITH A CONECTOR BLOCK. NORMALLY BRASS. AJUST THEM TILL THE DOORS LOCK.

Try locking and unlocking manually using your key in the outside key lock and try activating the handle to open the door while you have someone pull in and out on the door. Some of the Escorts do not have central locking. If the keys open both front doors, the hatch and fit the ignition then I would not worry too much about it. You may find that you also have a hatch release catch at the side of the drivers seat also. I trust this information helps you.

hi i would start by checking if there is a relay, it seems that there is a delay on the pressure pump that is supposed to shoot the door pins up.

Get in passenger side and unlock drivers side manually, this will unlock the 4 doors.
