Usually, something in the combustion chambers is too hot causing self ignition--carbon deposits in the head(s) that glow or the wrong spark plugs that run too hot. This problem usually makes a lot of 'clinking' sounds. If it seems to be running normally, replace the ignition switch which is probably remaining on in spite of being turned off!

98 Corolla will not start. Turn the key and I hear one click from the lower front of the engine. Not a series of clicks but one click. Is it the solenoid?

sounds like your starter has given all it got, and yea it is under intake manifold between engine and firewall. something to take in countn: check battery state of charge, spin engine by hand to make sure nothing is locked. this litlle engines like to burn oil and see so many run out off oil and engine locks. good luck

When i turn off my car off the motor keeps running. iwhat do you think is my problem?

Usually an ASD relay or ignition switch will go bad and keep it running when you turn the key off. Or, sounds like someone mismatched the ACC and 12v wires somewhere in the harness or something. It's worth getting checked by a professional.

It's called dieseling and it's caused by the self ignition of the fuel in the cylinder because there's a lot of carbon buildup in it. You can either dismantle the engine or use a specialized fuel additive to clean it.
