First things first...check for fault codes..If it was your immobilizer you would have a light on to tell you -(flashing as you turn the key to crank the engine )... and you would have no spark..at the plugs at all.
If your engine has compression, fuel and a spark it will run...
You need to check for fuel and spark as your starting point for trouble shooting your cranks no start problem.
First of all lose the plugs out,(all the plugs),,,,,, then crank the engine,(u know it won't start bcos u have losed all the plugs) but the oil in the cylinder wil come out while u are cranking the engine, after doing this u have to replace all the plugs 4 better performance........
If the engine cranks but does not start, you need three things to make it happen. Spark at the plugs at the right time, fuel for the injectors, and normal compression. What have you checked so far ?
I HAVE A 7.3 DEISEL AND I DONT KNOW IF THE 6.0 HAS ONE OR NOT BUT MY CRANK SHAFT SENSOR WENT BAD AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT START( JUST TURN OVER ) DEALER PUT NEW CRANK SHAFT SENSOR ON MINE AND FIXED THE PROBLEM...HOPE THIS HELPS...
If the engine cranks but will not start, start looking for an ignition or fuel problem. I assume the engine is cranking normally. You should clean the battery posts anyway.
I broke down and purchased a new crank shaft sensor . It cost $15000 hated to spend it because everbody told me they just don't fail , and why would it when it worked fine before the motor was rebuilt. IT FIXED IT.
