Bank 1 is usually the side of the engine on a v type engine which has the #1 plug position and this oxygen sensor is ahead of the catalytic converter on the bank 1 side. .On a straight engine it is the oxygen sensor ahead of the cat.Sensor 2 is to the oxygen sensor to the rear of the catalytic converter on the exhaust system from bank 1.
If the y exhaust pipe from both banks feed into one converter, sensor 2 is still the rear most oxygen sensor.

2008 Volvo XC90. Where is Bank 1 Sensor 2 please.

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to sub category.

Generic answer for all vehicles with two banks.

Bank 1 means it is at the engine side with cylinders 1, 3, 5, etc. Bank 1 Sensor 2 is the second sensor on the engine's exhaust pipe, usually behind the catalytic converter on the way to the muffler.

And specifically locating and changing on your vehicle. Buy OEM sensors not cheaper alternatives.

Volvo o2 sensor what is B1 S3 mean

B1S3 means bank one, sensor 3- sensor 3 is the rearmost oxygen sensor, after the catalytic converter. Bank 1 refers to the side or bank of the engine where cylinder number 1 is located. On a v-style engine, bank one is the side with number 1 cylinder on it, and bank two is the opposite side or bank. If you have dual exhaust, B1S3 is the sensor after the cat on the side where bank one exhaust is.

Check engine light (emission system service required) Help?!?!

There may be problem with the mass air flow sensor (very common with Volvo). This causes the fuel system to malfunction.

You may have noticed increased fuel consumption, loss of power and general 'lazyness'.

Better to take it to authorized Volvo service for a checkup/fix.
