Be aware that the lights only take a few amps to work; however, the starter takes 250-300 amps. So make sure the battery is fully charged 1st to get a 100% crank. If you're still having trouble you could have flooded so mat the accelerator & try that. Beyond the simple a full fledged tech will help you

I have a 95 pontiac sunfire, it died on me a lil back ago!! car turns over but wont start, no fuel pump problems!! please what could it be, and how can fix it?

Your, car has a crankshaft sensor that, may not working.
Check, the sensor, it is located ( Near the Crankshaft,) You'll
need to look from under the car.
Or It may just NOT have a good connection.
Wet, DIRT bad connection rust on connector.

Pontiac Sunfire '95 wont start

Sounds like the ignition switch has gone out. Take a service manual and follow the instructions on testing the ignition switch.

My gsx won't start

Check the fuel system2_bing.gif to make sure it's getting gas. Take the back seat out and turn the ignition on without cranking the car. You should hear the fuel pump make noise for a few seconds as it pressurizes the system and then turns off. If you don't hear anything, it would probably be the pump or one of the two relays on the firewall2_bing.gif next to the master cylinder. I replace the cheaper of the two relays and that fixed my problem.

96 pontiac sunfire wont start.....

Starter solenoid , or wire that leads to it.

Also , if standard transmission , may be the switch on clutch pedal is intermitant.

Engine won't turn over unless it thinks you have your foot on the clutch.
