It might be;however, fuel filter could be bad causing the pump to fell. You need to take a fuel pressure test to see if the fuel pressure is within range of the manufacture. An Autozone store probably can give you those numbers.

I had a case tractor with a 4 cylinder diesel, dual heads, in-line cylinders. It had a similar symptom. Turned out to be a cracked head. Only one of the two. Water pump had previously failed, this led to overheating and cracking of the head.

Car idles fine, but sputters, bogs and dies if gas pedal is pressed.

new spark plugs this decade. (a tune up?0
the filter is part of all 60k tuneups. letting it clog wrecks good pumps.
my wild guess, its lack of fuel flow, do to old filter.
or low fuel pressure.
car is identical to a Corolla. so is not unique or rare as some Geo cars are.
the cam belt not changes, invites valve kissing piston tops. BOOM
end of engine. (costs more to fix then worth of car)
the word is bogging, my engine bogs
if if bogs WOT (wide open throttle) and dont catch up < ITS NOT THE TPS. ever.
tps bad causes short bogs, called hesitations.
The map sensor , is what measure air flow and the ECU matches fuel to this air flow.
my guess, is it does that, but fuel pressure is like 15PSI, bad.

Camaro bogs down

check the fuel filter and pump flow for starters. Check for cat converter problems. Check coils are ok as they will allow idle but fail at revs.. Check the o2 sensors are clean and check the MAF/MAP sensors are clean also.

85 nissan doesnt seem to b getting feul all the time

Check or replace the fuel pump control unit, common problem on the 720 models. It is in the right kick panel near the glove box. The part costs about $60 from Nissan.
There was also a recall on the ECM relay-causing surging, bucking, stalling, instruments go crazy. Relay is in the box at right rear of engine compartment.
Have you replaced the fuel filter and checked the air filter?

Motor bogs down

You could possibly turn up the idle if it bogs down when idling. If it only bogs down when you press the gas it may be a clogged fuel filter or fuel line. Could also be your fuel pump starting to go if you ride with less than a quarter of a tank of gas most of the time.

At Idle Runs Fine, 50% throttle runs like ****

It could be a lot of things, if you can run some component testing. You should be able to narrow it down. Test the TP, EGR, IAC sensor, Look, does the car act up at high throttle while in neutral or just when its in gear? You may want to check the timing and look inside the distributor for any signs of water, rust, or carbon build-up.
