Most times the symptoms you have are the beginning stages of either a fuel pump failure, crank position sensor or a bad ignition switch. Unless you catch it at the right time though, it will be difficult to diagnose (this is the part that shops hate the most...when testing will show everything is good but everyone knows its not.)
Hopefully it may have set a stored code which will make that easier.

Can't tell you what it is without testing, but you need to check the crank position sensor and fuel pump. Both will cause it to stall and, when they cool down, it will re-start.
Easiest way to check pump is to turn the key on and listen at the tank. If you can't hear it running, it's not.

Engine locked up wondering if there are any defects known for a jeep grand cherokee laredo 2000 4.0l engine. Wondering if debris buildup at #3 cylinder location could cause this to happen? if not what?...

you can check the crysler website for any recall
debris on the outside of the cyl. won't do it but
before you sign the death certificate you can
try turning the engine back + forth with 1/2" or
3/4" drive socket + breaker bar and try to see
or hear where it has bound up also remove the
belt I've seen frozen a/c compreser or ps pump
give the same symtems hope this helps
good luck

94 Jeep wont start running after 3 seconds.

It could be the security system or maybe a crank sensor.

Does the vehicle crank for extended period of time upon first starting? If so the fuel pump needs replacing.
