Hello tj60576: My name is Roger I will help you. If the temp gauge is stuck? Locate the temp sensor on the motor.Disconnect the wire. After disconnecting the wire. Ground the plug end of the wire. You can do this with a extra piece of wire. Observe the temp gauge with the key on. The gauge should move to cold side of the gauge. If the gauge still reads hot or above then the problem is either in the dash or the gauge itself. You will find the sensor located on the cross over pipe front of the engine far right hand side of the tube.
Should you need further help please just ask. Please rare the answer you received. This way I know the answer helped. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

Heat blows only when car is in drive when coming to stop light it blows cold air. Have added more coolant but it has not fixed the problem

Hello,

You problem sounds like a "Blend Door" issue, you have these doors that open & close and everything in between to adjust air temp. These doors have a "peg" that is connected to an arm or wire just like on a ten speed bike to shift gears, that peg may have broken off.

Another issue may be a stuck open thermostat, if you have a temp gauge is it running at normal temp? If the thermostat is stuck open then heat may become an issue.

I have found several 2007 Chevrolet Impala blend door issues here in fixya.com.

Hope this helps.

Fuel gauge, temp gauge, and auto door locks stopped working while in transit. checked obvious fuses, found no problems. did not check all fuses. Ideas

I had a similar problem with a 2001 Saturn. We checked every fuse and they were all fine. We finally did a 'reset' on the car's computer by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it a few minutes later. Everything was back to normal after that.

Tach,temp gauge,gas gauge intermitantly works

This problem can be tricky to solve... one thing I have run across is that some Cabrios have a factory fault that lets water leak though the firewall onto the fusebox! Needless to say this will cause any number of electrical problems due to the inevitable corrosion. The problem is fixed by inspecting under the hood directly above the fusebox (where the computer is mounted) Look for signs of debris or moisture. I have successfully repaired these with a good cleaning and the application of an asphalt based waterproofing membrane (unfortunately this was too late in some cases and neccesitated fusebox replacement!) Hope this helps... ;-)

94 bmw 318iC Heater not working

1st thing to check is the coolant level. Low coolant level results in no, or little heat (not enough coolant to circulate thru the heater core). What does your engine temp gauge indicate? (or is it just a warning light?) If the car is running at what appears to be lower than normal temp., u may have a thermostat that's stuck open. This would cause the engine to not reach operating temp, and u would not have heat. Check the above 2 items 1st, then let me know what u found. If that doesn't fix it, we will continue, let's do the easy and not too expensive stuff 1st!
