It's most likely the blower resistor, which is located under the hood on the passengers side in the evaporator case. if you have manual a/c heat control this is a cheap fix, if you have auto temp control it is a very expensive part [around 200.00] good luck

I believe you have to replace the switch assembly.

Heater only run on high speed

Hello Sanda.

The blower speed system on your car goes through a resistor to give various speeds.
The reason it still works on high is that when set on high it doesn't go through that resistor.

It gets direct battery voltage.
The resistor is not too expensive and easy to replace.

To replace;
  1. Open the glove box.
  2. Flex both sides of the glove box bin inward near the top far enough for the rubber glove box stop bumpers to clear the sides of the glove box opening, then roll the glove box downward.

  1. Reach through the glove box opening to access and disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector for the blower motor resistor from the resistor connector receptacle.
  2. Reach through the glove box opening to access and disconnect the blower motor pigtail wire connector from the resistor connector receptacle.
  3. Remove the two screws that secure the blower motor resistor to the evaporator housing.
  4. Remove the blower motor resistor from the evaporator housing.
There you are. Thank you for using FixYa.

Blower Motor quit. I checked fuses, they're good.

Run a jumper to the motor directly from the battery, if it works you have wiring problem, if not replace the blower.

Blower motor resistor

The blower motor resistor is located near the blower motor. It is held in place by 2 screws, and has a wire clip connected to it. Very simple fix.

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.

Heat wont work 2001 lincoln town car cartia

Hello Callahan5922....this sounds like a stuck blower motor resistor. I assume the blower won't function in the a/c mode either? If you have a digital multimeter you can check this. I believe it's fuse #2....if the digital indicator goes up or down when you increase or decrease the fan speed thats good. Locate the blower motor resistor....you wil find it located on the fire wall behind the right valve cover hiding behind the heater hose, it's about the size of a cigarette pack. With the engine off, and key in on position, turn the A/C on High, and rap a tap tap tap on the resistor. You might be suprised when the blower motor takes off a runnin,
I hope this is the answer you need and i was able to help solve this for you. Good luck...

it is called blower motor resistor , should be close to blower motor , you will see a plug type connector with two screws , remove the screws and there should be a resistor inside the cover for the motor, swap with new and reassemble
