Is the exhaust pipes or anything in the way of dropping the oil pan to change the gasket?
The engine does have to be raised. The bolts are not easy to get to until the engine is lifted and the engine mount is removed. I'm doing this job right now and the book time is around 5 hours.
I haven problem with my impala. I'm trying to take down the oil pan but theirs an bracket thatz in my way. Please tell me what to do.
No, the oil pan is at the bottom of the engine and the bolts are easy to get to. If you are going to do this yourself, make sure you have a support for the pan when you undo all the bolts...make sure you drain the oil out of the pan before trying to drop the pan...when you have installed the new gasket and are ready to put it back together make sure you tighten the bolts in "star" pattern; that methd is much like the pattern you use when bolting a wheel back on the car...this ensures an even torque all the way around the pan. Hope this helps!
the bolts are not easy to get to and the engine has to be raised to get the motor mount bracket out of the way. whoever designed this thing should be made to remove about 3 of them, in a driveway when the wind is blowing 20 mph and the temperature is right about 40 degrees F.
Starting from the middle right
I seen on of these manuals that you supposed to tighten the side bolts a different torque from end bolts

The oil pan gasket job on that car is about 5 hours book time. The motor has to be lifted up to remove the motor mount attached to the oil pan.
