1996 Chevrolet Blazer Logo
Posted on Oct 14, 2009

I have a 1996 Chevy blazer. I have had it for about a month now. I recently started having a problem with it in the last couple of days. It hasnt been shifting right. I checked all my fluids and they are all good. But then today on my way to work, it made a loud noise, almost like a grinding noise. Then it stopped and my car started losing speed. Then when I had gotten to work and parked it, I put it in reverse and it idled like it was in nuetral or something. I couldnt not back up. Any idea what can be causing this or what needs to be fixed?

Brake issues on 1996 Chevy Blazer

You should check your vacuum lines make sure they are all connected plus the line you keep disconnecting is collasping onto its self which in turn will make the brakes stick so you must have one of the ends plugged.

1995 chevy blazer turns over but dont start

Try to start it by cranking the engine for just a second (1) then turn ignition off, then again and if it starts on the third or fourth time you might look at the ignition switch behind your steering wheel. If you have an after market alarm you may want to make sure they did not tie into the ignition harness for the alarm during install, (very common) they cut into it then shove it under the dash. Hope this helps.
