What is the possible cost of fixing a drivers side window in my 02 malibu window wont roll up or down but motor still runs. is this something i can try to fix myself? sounded like window fell into door panel when it happened.

You probably need a new window regulator . You would need to take door panel off to replace it . How To Replace The Window Regulator On 2004 Ford F150 I don't know what kind of vehicle you have but this will give you a idea what's involved !

Chevy Malibu 2005 window wont roll up or down.

Sounds like the window regulator broke (the mechanism that moves your window up and down). It has cable to do the lifting the window up and pulling the window down. These cables do break.

1996 Ford Explorer driver's window won't roll up

if it was running slow then yes i would say the motor died. to replace you have to take the door panel off not too hard of a job if you have some mechanical abilties. i would look online for the part you can usually get it a lot cheaper than local auto stores

Not for each window, sounds like either the switch or motor on that door.

NEED TO CHECK THE WIRE CONNECTIONS TO AND FROM THE SWITCH AND CHECK THE WINDOW MOTOR INSIDE DOOR PANEL

I have an 02 Focus Zetec and yesterday the drivers side electric window decided not to work, but the rest are fine. Any Ideas on how to find out what the issue is cheaply {:@}

if neither the driver or passenger switch work to roll down the window then your motor is bad, you will need to buy a motor and window regulator from a junkyard it will cost around 100.

thats real tough to say, if you hear the motor trying but it wont budge than i could say possibly a bent regulator, but if you press the switch and hear nothing i would say possible a weak motor, or you might just have a combination of two, those are rivited in and ideal to get both regulator and motor in one piece because the motor itself is a pain in the ***, good luck

2001 Saab 95 se driver/passenger windows.

A car I owned the left rear window did that. I could pull it up by taking a hold of it while another person held the switch. They told me the problem was the track was made out of plastic and it had broken. They had to replace the track. Yes it was expensive to repair but is ok now.

If it is a very loud noise, then it may be the window regulator. This is the assembly that the motor and glass bolt to. The door panel would have to come off to inspect.

Driver window will roll down but the passenger and rear wont

The first thing that I would do is check for electricty at the motors them sel and work your way back.If there is elec. at the window motor it's self susspect a motor problem.Remove the motor to see if it spins (but it dosen't me its good it could be week)next check for binding in the window mecanism.

It sounds like the window regulator has gone bad. The part usually runs around 200.00 and it will take a skilled mechanic between an hour to an hour and a half to replace. I wouldn't recomend this job to some one who isn't mechanicly inclined, and dasent have a great deal of paitence.

The cable on your window motor broke most likley or could be the clips on the window itself the motor assembly is about 150.00 if u are nit mechanically inclined or dont have the right tools take it to a body shop their rates are cheaper than a mechanic
