Look under the car and see where the tank is located. If it is under the trunk its probably in the trunk same for backseat tank would be under the back seat.

It is located in the tank however I am unclear if ford put an access panel under the back seat or the trunk but you can remove the back seat by pushing the seat bottom in releasing it from the retainers and then lifting up there should be a round recess with a cover held down by two screws!

Could possible be the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor. It is located on top of the fuel pump. The fuel pump access is located in the trunk, under the carpet, behind the back seat. The AutoZone part number is SU 1390.
open the trunk and look up under the speaker area there r two straps located there pull on these straps one for each back seat then the seats will let down
Many of the Pontiacs of that era up to even present models had an access panel in the trunk that you could access through the back seat pass through.
Its been a while since I seen the inside of a Firebird, but in thinking about it the back seat pass through may not be present on the Firebird, but it may be worth the time to lift up the carpeting in the trunk area and see if there is an access panel to the fuel pump.
