Thermostat has failed (stuck open) and needs replacement. It's a big job (5-6 hours charged labor for a shop), and requires the front of the car to be removed. Here's a pic of my car (B5 A4) a few weeks ago when I changed mine:

There's no way around it either - removing the front of the car is the only way to access it.

Had the same problem. Green coolant was mixed with Audi red and caused it to jell in the heater core. Had to run it with a fluid the dealer provided and have it flushed after two weeks. Heat came back but still not really hot. May need to flush again. If you have had your belt changed, the thermostat and water pump should be new.

It maybe the information display is not in standard mode by some kind of diagnostic mode.

If you have raiod security code, disconnect the battery negative terminal for 30 mins and reconnect it to see if it can rest it.

Seems like you have checked everything. Now you can basically pinpoint the heatcore as the problem. They do go bad. No heat in car, this would be your problem

Fan on Audi A4 Avant not working

'Fraid I can only vouch for the A6, but the A4 is very similar and has many common components. On the A6 it's reasonably easy, as the access is from behind the glovebox on the inside and under a filter next to the battery on the outside. Audi's are notorious for having burnt-out/seized heating blower fans, so your diagnose is probably correct... :(

Fan quit on 87 celebrity, heat ac, etc.. fuse ok ????

Hi
Check for bad connection at heater resistor or try tapping heater motor lightly
with ignition switch on and heater switch on. Could be heater switch connection.
