Rear door lock on 2000 saturn broken. Stuck in

Sounds like the lock mechanism is stuck on the locked position. Since you didn't specify make and model this is a best guess. Make sure the lock is in the unlock position and try manipulating the rod connected to the outside handle (since child lock is on the inside handle won't work)

As the same with a trunk lock a foriegn object can can get in between the lock and latch. Lucky for you and even better if the back seats folds down you have an easier access. Now crawl into the rear taking with you a 2 screw drivers,pliers and needle nose pliers. look for something stuck in between the door and the jam if so try to pull it out. If you don't see anything try this, get one person to put key in door and another to push the electric lock while you push on door. If that doesn't work you'll have to rake the door panel apart be carefull not to break the plastic after 11 years it does become fragile. once inside the door try to release it manually the cable may have broken

52 plate ?? is this a sit up and beg type rover 75 ,you know the big thing with the bench seat and handbrake between the door and seat?

If your talking about the teeth/latch that actually engage around the pin to hold the door closed and not the lock you puhs down to lock it. all you have to do is get a screwdriver or anything small and strong you can stick in it and pull the tooth back into the "open" position. You might have to pull the handle out like your opening the door normally while you do this.

its alot going on if all that started happening at one time check the bcm. body control module.

The door lock solenoid is stuck in the lock position,Do you relly need the convient of a door lock and unlock how many cars fight the owner and wont let them in. time to get a door lock solenoid.

The lock actuator needs to be replaced .

if the latch is in the lock position insert a pen into it hold the handle open and pop it out

put a screwdriver in the latch jaws and force it open
