  1. Remove the screw(s) and wing nut retainers at the rear of the luggage compartment and push the trim away from the back of the light.
  2. Remove the wing nuts retaining the light assembly to the vehicle and the retaining nut from either side of the luggage compartment and pull the light body assembly from the vehicle.
  3. Turn the bulb socket(s) counterclockwise to the stop and remove the socket(s) from the light assembly. Remove the bulb(s) from the socket(s).
  4. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

HOW DO YOU CHANGE THE REAR TAIL LIGHTS ON A 1998 CROWN VIC?

Access to the tail light cluster should be through panels in the rear corners of the vehicle. Remove the panel and you can remove the tail light cluster to replace the bulbs. This is the position on most sedans, unless, like on pick-ups, the tail light lenses have screws which allow the lenses to be removed to change the bulbs.

Tail lights on 93 crown victoria do not work but brake lights and turn signals do

remove lens & check for corroded wire or bulb/socket. Then check bulb (2 filaments). Clean any corrosion on connections. Replace bulb if necessary.

Tail lights only work while pressure is being made on the brake pedal, lights work fine otherwise, I assume this is a Vaccum leak somewhere, any idea where i can find the line?

If tail ights only work while putting o nthe brakes, that means the bulbs need replaced.

Those bulbs have two elements in them,,,1 for brake lights , 1 for tail ights.

Repalce the bulbs and all will be fine.
