they are both 3.0 liter engines. One is a DOHC and one is a OHV. They are completely different water pumps. One is located on the front of the engine and driven by the serpentine belt and the other is on the backside of the engine driven by a belt that is driven by pulley of a cam shaft.

There are many online parts stores that will show you pictures of parts and part numbers. It doesnt take to long to look up parts and compare them on these sites.

I have to say head gaskets on a 3.0L VUE is very uncommon. Perhaps you could have the shop who is working on it explain it better and you could follow up because I have seen exactly 1 VUE 3.0L head gasket leak.

Labor to do the water pump and timing belt should be around 4 hours. Maybe a little more if the water pump leaked and made a mess they need to clean up.

This is not correct spark plug replacement for the 3.5 liter Honda engine in the 2004 and newer Saturn Vues. The spark plugs are simply underneath the coil packs right on the the top of the valve covers. You do not need to take off the intake manifold to change the spark plugs on the 3.5 liter v6

2002 to 2003 V6 3.0L 600CCA, Vue, Saturn, call any auto parts store for battery.

If you mean the 2.7 liter V6 (I think the Intrepid only came with the 2.7 or 3.5 liter V6), the answer is yes. The water pump is driven by the timing chain.

sounds like a bad crank sensor,nothing you did wrong,just a common 3.0 v6 saturn issue,its located on the front of the engine block under the car by the oil filter housing,,,like $115 for the sensor

I have a 2002 saturn vue. Same thing..sounded like a jet engine ...loud humming as I accelerated . It got increasingly worse. It turned out to be the front wheel bearings. Replace them, now the noise is half as loud...have to do the rears also! 93,000 miles on it. Also, don't forget to replace the timing belt. It it goes too long and breaks, it will trash the engine...

when looking at motor from front ......4-5-6 are front of motor...1-2-3 on back of motor by fire wall ....#5 is center plug on front of engine
