This is not one of Jeep's better ideas. I have had to do several of these. The water drain on your cherokee actually empties through the floorboard into the frame rail. It is totally boxed in. You can't even see the thing from the engine compartment or from under the vehicle. It is impossible to get it unclogged without removing the evaporator housing.

I would totally agree 100% with Thundergod's solution on almost every vehicle made except the one we are talking about. Trust me, I looked for over an hour for the drain tube he is describing the first time I got one of these Cherokees in my shop. The drain dumps into the frame rail. (Or the uni-body equivalent af a frame rail) Under normal operation, when the drain is working properly, the water runs down the inside of the frame rail and drips out a hole in the rail located under the passenger seat. Unless you want to do something completely unorthodox like cutting a hole in the frame rail to gain access to the drain, the evaporator housing has to come out.

Drain is even with the bottom of the heater box but on the engine side of the firewall on the passenger side (looks like a bent hose sticking out, not connected anywhere) Usually you can just roll it in your fingers and the water inside will push out the junk. Don't stick anything into it too far or you can punch a hole in something you need. I've actually gone as far as using a shop vac with a homemade adapter on the end to **** junk out on really bad ones.

My passanger side floor front & rear wet,is it the heater core or condensation?

Hi there sounds like the drain for your air conditioner is blocked, what you need to do is find a little rubber hose extruding from the firewall under the bonnet and stick a long thin woe up it to clear the blockage, hope this helps

Wet floorboard 2004 toyota highlander passenger side

Often the floor of the passenger side become wet if the drain pipe of the evaporator is:
- Bent or twisted.
- Clogged or,
- There is any obstruction in its routing.
The drain pipe is a rubber hose about 14 mm in diameter, located just under the evaporator (cooling coil) casing on the passenger side.
The most easiest way to clean the pipe is to take it out, wash it from inside with water or to blow a compressed air slowly through its distal end while leaving it in place under the body.
Note: Keep your eyes away while blowing the air.
Hope that it works.

Air conditioner leaks on floor

Sounds like the outside drain is stopped up.
There should be a tube coming out of the firewall near the passenger floor.

Floor board on passenger side wet after running a/c unit 2005 ford taurus

Could be the drain tube is partially clogged. It is usually located on the fire-wall or down towards the floor pan under the car. It is usually close to where the A/C lines go thru the fire-wall. About 1/2 inch diameter sticking straight out but may have a 90 degree elbow pointing down.
Also, its been extra hot and humid all over and moisture could be freezing inside the unit when on MAX A/C, then suddenly melting when switched to normal. This opens the outside air door and allows warm/hot air into the unit instead of recirculating the cold air inside the car. The drain may not be able to handle a large, sudden quantity of water.
Perform a "driveway" test. Open the hood, start engine and run the A/C on normal with the windows or doors open. Locate the drain tube by looking for water dripping. Once located twist 2 or 3 pipe cleaners together and verify the tube is clean. Then close the doors/windows and switch to MAX A/C. Check for water dripping. If it stops dripping, water is freezing inside and now you know why!

Water on the floor with air conditioner

have the AC evaporator (found under the dash) inspected. It may need cleaning or the drains may have fallen out of place.

I have water running from under the passenger side interior floor board what could it be coming from or has any one else experienced it really flows when turning corners

It sounds like condensed water from the air conditioner. Just like a glass with ice in it sweats, the cold part of an air conditioner sweats. That water needs to go somewhere. There is a drain on the bottom of the ductwork that comes out under the car, often toward the passenger side.

If the drain gets plugged, the A/C still sweats, but the water builds up inside the ductwork.

You can often clear the drain by blowing some air up the drain from the outside. (Don't use too much pressure!)

Water in floor on passenger side

The issue is condensation from your air conditioner not properly draining. This is usually caused by a damaged, or clogged drain hose. The condensation is supposed to drain outside the vehicle by way of a hose on the firewall area.

Floor on passenger side gets wet when running air conditioner

I have a 2006 Fusion with the same issue and I fixed it for less than $2. There is a drain tube that goes from the passenger floor board out through the firewall to allow water to drain under the vehicle. However, water can travel along the underside and seep back into the vehicle. I went to a hardware store and bought a few inches of 5/8" tubing. I simply slipped this onto the drain and the water now flows down the tube and safely away from the interior of the car. Been dry ever since.
