Fuel pressure intermittently drops causing sputter and die.
95 Dodge Ram 1500 3.9L V6 220 000Km. Drives fine then suddenly starts sputtering and slows then eventually dies out. replaced plugs / wires, TPS, MAP, then hooked up a fuel pressure guage, held 43 PSI regardless of how hard you pushed it, then suddenly PSI started dropping stopped at 30 PSI, Engine started sputtering and died, at its last breaths fuel was at 20 PSI, waited 5 min turned key without start, PSI raised to 30, Wouldnt Start. Waited 10 Min PSI raised to 37, Start but bad stutter. Waited 30 Min PSI raised to 40, tried to make it home, died after 1 KM. Waited 30 min and PSI didnt move till started then raised to 43 and got me home no problem. yet to replace pump or wiring, Weak Pump is my assumption.
when i give the truck gas my fuel pressure drops and doesnt come back up. it starts at 30 psi and the fuel pump whines but after the pressure has dropped below 15 psi i cant hear the fuel pump anymore. does this mean the fuel pump is bad?when i give the truck gas my fuel pressure drops and doesnt come back up. it starts at 30 psi and the fuel pump whines but after the pressure has dropped below 15 psi i cant hear the fuel pump anymore. does this mean the fuel pump is bad?

Check for 12v constant at your fuel pump if you are not getting that replace your relay.
if you are getting 12 volts at your fuel pump the fuel pump is possible to run tuel it gets warm then shut down to a lower rpm I would then replace the fuel pump

What causes an engine to stall at idle?
If the engine stalls while idling or driving, the engine may be running out of fuel or not receiving enough fuel pressure to keep it running. The most likely cause of this kind of stalling would be a fuel pump that is not spinning fast enough or is intermittently cutting out.
you need to check fuel pressure with a pressure gauge to see if its within specs.it should be around 35psi and no lower then about 32psi.your problem sounds like a fuel pressure problem and the pump should be changed as well as the filter, but check to make sure the fuel filter is not plugged as this can also cause a pressure problem.
This can be caused by a problem in the fuel pressure check valve of the fuel pump. Have a pressure leak down test run by a shop, if the system is losing pressure then the pump assembly must be replaced. The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank and is electric
If you have a check engine light on, than it is likely a sensor that needs to be replaced. If filter has been changed, you may have weak fuel pressure, or a bad sensor. A leaky fuel injector will also cause this
yes it can but you may have a coolant temp sensor acting up which causes the computer to open the injectors to much which can also cause this 02 sensor code. when it stalls do u have spark and fuel pressure.
