You are going to have to recheck all radio wires used to install radio something is wired wrong. also check fuses something might of blown a fuse. good luck.

Everything was copacetic before you installed the radio? Right? So that means that something you did during the install is responsible for the issue.
See what happens if you disconnect the radio and go back to the situation you had previously and see what the story is. I suspect the problem will still be there !
one possibility either the cruise control is on the same circuit line with the heater/defroster fan and same fuse. try to solve the problem with the fan and you will notice the difference.
Need more data...if you are saying the cruise control and radio don't work, then its probably 2 separate issues. Cruise control shares fuses with the instrument panel, if your gauges work then its not the fuse...if its a 5 speed could be a switch not working that operates when the clutch is pushed in (if you push the clutch, the cruise will disengage to keep engine from revving). Radio shares fuses with headlite lift motors...if your headlights pop up then its not the fuse, maybe just a bad radio...blueamber...I've owned 6 of the capris
Look for a fuse for the Cruise Control and compass.
Also, the fan for the heating and air conditioning usually wears out (brushes get worn out) and possibly requires a relay as well to make it work reliably.
I don't think the two conditions Cruise Control vs. the Ventilation Fan are related.
try disconnecting the cluster fuse and the radio fuse and see what happen if everything work...u might have an open circuit or a short on one of the electronic in your truck
possably a vacuum leak. the check engine light comes on with an emmissions issue, ie vac leak, and it will not allow the cruise to work. once the error is fixed, your cruise should work properly again
