Noise from blower fan from mice nest

I have a tapping noise when I run the fan for the heater or defroster and a guy at the napa store told me that there was probably a mice nest there since the car - 1997 4-runner - sat for a few months while I was overseas. Can I just take a cover or something off and look and clean the fan out if there is a mice nest and how do I do that. Thank You

Clicking noise when heater is turned on passenger side

The fan connected to your blower motor is loose, rubbing the sides of the case, or a rodent has decided to build its nest in your heaterbox and what you hear is the fan contacting the nest material.

A/C Heater Blower Motor for 2010 Nissan Altima, was making a noise for a few weeks and then just stopped blowing.

sounds like a mouse attack to me. mice get into the heater vents and blower motor cage and make nests. those can throw your blower motor out of balance, thus resulting in the noise and then the motor just gets jammed and stops operation. but it could be just the blower motor failure it self. have it checked.

No heat in car back defrost works fine?

I had a similar problem with two different cars. Mice had somehow got into the heater ducting and built nests. This will plug up the ducting, or if nest is next to the heater fan, it can keep fan blades or the squirrel cage fan from turning. If that is the problem, you'll need to take some of the ducting apart and clear the obstruction. Good luck.
