Change spark plugs

Maybe you interchanged a couple plug wires >

Pull the spark plug boots from the spark plugs in the cylinder head. Using a 5/8" spark plug socket, remove the spark

You don`t have to drop the engine but you have to climb up on it to reach down with your hands.It will be tight and you will come out with some scratches.The hardest part is usually getting the boots off the spark plugs.Sorry to say but there is no secret way.If there were I would have found it buy now.I work at a G.M. dealership.Going back on is the easy part.Let me know if you have anymore questions.Good luck.

CHANGE SPARK PLUGS.YOU NEED SPARK PLUG 3/8 SOCKET.YOU NEED SHORT AND LONG 3/8 EXTENSIONS.YOU NEED SPARK PLUG BOOT PULLER AND A SPARK PLUG GAUGE SET THE SPARK PLUG GAP.NOW CHANGE 1 SPARK PLUG AT A TIME SO YOU MIX THEM UP GET FIRING ORDER MIX UP CAR BACK FIRE WONT CRANK.ALSO CHANGE PLUG WIRES ALSO.

Here is the firing order diagram for that vehicle, and if the ignition wires are not crossed then one of the spark plugs might have been damaged while installing it and the spark plug gap closed on one of the spark plugs, or one of the ignition wires (spark plug wires) has been damaged, and if those wires are over 5 years old then you should replace them. I hope that this helps you to solve your problem.

Recheck the firing order; 1-6-5-4-3-2

On the distributor passenger side radiator to fire wall. 2-4-6-coil
On the distributor drivers side radiator to fire wall. 3-1-5

Cylinder passenger side radiator to fire wall. 2-4-6
Cylinder drivers side radiator to fire wall. 1-3-5

Good luck and also check the distributor cap again for proper seating.

ck if you have spark at the coil for that cylinder. check the plug wire closely. if it has spark at the coil, then replace all the spark plug wires.

In servicing the spark plug . If the owner will be the one to change the spark plug then. the owner should locate the spark plugs . then prepare the equipments that is going to be used to change spark plug .First disconnect the spark plug cable to the spark pug . Then use the equipment to take the spark plug off to the engine. The spark plug should be twisted counter clock wise using the equipment to remove the spark plug.Then replace the spark plug.In returning the spark plug ,using the equipment you have to twist the spark plug clock wise . Then set the distributor shaft turn it according to the proper firing order that will be set to the spark plug if it is 1,3,4,2. Then the distributor shaft mark will be on 1.If 2,3,4,1 then the distributor shaft mark will be on 2. Then connect the spark plug cable , after connecting the owner have to test start the car so that to if it back fires .If it back fires then the owner have to repeat again the setting of the firing order of the spark plug until it will not back fires.If the owner don't have time to do the job in servicing or changing spark plug then the owner have to go to a car mechanic and let them change the spark plug.

firing order is 123456, but I think what you want is where to plug which wire....the back three are 1,3,5 from left to right. The coil packs should go in order from left to right, 5,2,3,6,4,1 HTH

Pull the coil wire out of center of distributor cap and lay it close to where you unpluged it from distributor cap, and turn over engine if coil is good you will see the spark jump. If no spark coil bad.
