I just replaced an RB1 unit with an aftermark sony explode cd player in my 2005 Jeep Liberty Limited. Ive installed many different types of cd players in many different types of cars and have never come across this problem. My problem is, I have sound threw all my speakers when on the tuner source but when i switch to cd or the USB source the cd player shows that its reading the cd or ipod but i have no sound? My jeep came with a 6 disc cd changer which i unpluged thinking that would come in some kind of effect with my problem but still have no sound when trying to listen to cds. Any body know an answer to this?

check fuses
if good fuses, the deck is bad.
upgrade time. go diskless like all us.
we use flash USB sticks.
discs are dead. end of life and era. and weak tech.
i have 4000 songs on a stick , no CD no DVDs. zero.
buy any cheap media head end player and install it.

i think you may have a fault with the new unit.
if one source works and one doesn't, it sounds like an internal fault and i recommend that you return the unit for an exchange

I have a 2005 Jeep grand cherokee...with a 6 disc cd player. It has worked fine for 3 years since i bought the vehicle...(i used burned cds in it usually) and all of a sudden it will not play or read the...

this is a typical problem with the factory stereo. usually there is nothing you can do for the Cd player, because most likely a cd got jammed and broke or bent some internal components. however try usig a credit card to help eject. insert it partially into the slot and pull out if the cd tries to come out. if this doesen't work then you will have to have the cd removed by tearing it apart. this usually ends up with at least one or two scratched cds and a deck in a million pieces.

6 disc cd player displays error and will not eject or play

if you can remove the 6 disc unit you will find a really small reset button you will have to use a really fine pointed screwdriver this should eject the cd cartridge just check the player hasnt placed one of your cds in the same slot as another .

Envoy 2004 cd player

I had same problem with a 2005 Envoy in Jan '09. I took it to the ex-GM dealer. He said he'd try. The unit would only play using radio.
Mechanic took unit out of dash, and top off of unit. Ejected CD bu moving the eject mechanism. Replaced top and unit.
Works and plays cds. Cost $25.00 And i tipped the mechanic $10.00 for his knowledge.

2004 Jeep Liberty CD Problem

Sometimes if you shut off the vehicle, then continually press the eject button, while you start it, and continue to press the button, until the radio is on for a minute, it'll work. Other than that, Sorry. Best wishes to you.
