The ASC Sunroof on our 2002 Blazer .....
When the battery was disconnected for the remote start a few weeks ago,
it caused the sunroof to go into a 'program mode'. It doesn't open or close completely.
The buttons just 'bump' the sunroof unless you hold them down.
The control panel on the headboard has four buttons - 'Open', 'Close', 'Vent' and 'ASC'.
The roof works in both directions but only by using the 'Open' and 'Vent' buttons.....
The 'Close' and 'ASC' don't do anything.....
The 'ASC' button is presently flashing red & green.
I need to find out how to reprogram the buttons to open and close to the right positions.
I am worried just using it with the 'Open' and 'Vent' buttons I will not get it completely
closed (it is really hard to tell if is completely closed, since it goes from closed straight to the Vent Mode).
I've been looking on the web for the reprogram sequence, but haven't found it yet.
One website said hold the blinking ASC button for 10 seconds, then press the 'open' button.
I tried it, but it didn't work.
I know for a fact the sunroof does this when the battery is disconnected.
I would think any service shop that replaces a battery, or disconnects a battery for service,
knows how to reset the sunroof.
From Michael r Jackson, just reset the sunroof by resetting it like deconnecting the black battery terminal cable like resetting the check engine light.and push the vent button the close. And it saves money. Hold the vent button until the roof has "tilted" completely, then hold the open button until the roof has opened completely. the light that reads ASC should now be green and your sunroof should operate normally.

These aftermarket ASC sunroof are among the best but they do require frequent lubrication and maintenance. Use WD-40 or other penetrating oil anywhere that appears rusty, and use a lightweight grease for all tracks, pivots, and gears. After thoroughly lubricating the tracks, gears, and pivots, check to make sure that the END STOP microswitches are properly adjusted and providing continuity. It is also possible that the controller has failed.
Hi Patti, I'm glad to help! Here's something you can try, may or maynot work, but sometimes it does. Disconnect the negative battery cable for 20 seconds then reconnect and see if the sunroof works. If it doesn't more diagnostics will be needed. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Patti.
The mass airflow sensor should be right by the throttle body.
Don't disconnect it without disconnecting your battery's negative cable first. You will damage it if you disconnect it with the battery connected.
It controls the sunroof when you turn the car off. If its green the sunroof will close when the car is shut off. If it is read the sunroof will stay in whatever position it is in when the car is turned off.
03 Jeep Liberty sunroof wont close. I have 4 sunroof buttons; Open, Close, Vent and ASC. Open and Vent buttons are working fine. Close button is not responding. ASC button is flashing red and green but does nothing when pushed. I have no way to get it closed
The problem is that your sunroof is operated by a PCB which contains computerized programmed IC. This problem is not with battery. You might have been operating your sunroof when your battery was down. The programming of IC has been disturbed. Take that PCB to the service centre.
Always operate your power windows/side mirror/ sunroofs when your car is start because these power stuffs have high rated motors.
When the car is start it's load is on genrator/dinamo therefore it does n't have any effect on battery.
