0cassionally this can be the activating link to your igntion switch located pn the steering column. Tepeayed hard key turns can after a time push the switch out of throw. If you can access the the pushrod where it connects to the switch itself on the upper side of the steering column near the brake pedal turn the key to start and mannually try to push the switch down column. If the starter engages, stop. You will need somrone to lower the steering column to access the switch itself and move it back up column.

Ok, Make sure the battery connections are clean, remove and clean to make sure. Then, follow the battery + cable to a solenoid. check those connections. The small wire is the one from the key. That is what cranks the motor. Make sure the vehicle is in neutral and try again. If nothing, then jump the batt+ to the cable on the other side of the solenoid. The starter will crank. Then, jump the + to the little oost. The engine will crank and if your key is on it will start. Always have someone in the drivers seat when doing this..... Safety is a must when out of vehicle. Good Luck, Ned.

2004 Ford Explorer wont click or turn over

First check the starter relay, see if it is getting voltage when the key is turned - if Yes and it is not clicking then the relay is bad, not very expensive. If the relay is not getting any voltage then either check the fuses to the ignition or the ignition switch itself.

My ford explorer wont start

So your fuel pump is working, it could be that your starter is not. Check your starter.

My 2004 v6 ford explorer won't start new batery and new starter no luck wont even click ?

Did you check the start relay for voltage? Ohms reading?

If I remember correctly the circuit goes like this:
Key turns ignition switch which puts voltage to the start relay which engages the solenoid.
So if it isn't even clicking and your headlights seem to be working fine then it is either the ignition switch or the start solenoid coil.
On older Fords the start solenoid used to be remote mounted on a fender. I heard newer Ford vehicles had it integrated with the starter like GM does.
A quick visual inspection will tell you which and where you need to look.
You might check if there is a fuse for that as well.

Abs light flashing sometimes, engine not starting sometimes

Are you absolutely sure it is the ABS light that is flashing?

Also, to confirm descriptions, when you state that when you try to turn it back on you get "nothing, doesn't even crank" are you saying there is no click for the starter relay, no starter engagement, and the engine doesn't spin over?

Your description of the noise when you turn the truck off sounds a bit like the sound a muffled backfire might make. Maybe the truck is running really right, but that wouldn't explain the ABS light flashing. It could explain the Check Engine Light (CEL) flashing as running rich enough to backfire would be an emissions issue which would cause a flashing CEL.

1994 ford explorer

Did you have the key programmed to the vehicle? If not you will need to have another key (2 keys) and have them programmed by a ford dealer. Good Luck
