It has a timing belt. Recommended to be replace every 105,000 miles, timing belt also run's your water pump good idea to also replace, your engine is also an INTERFERENCE ENGINE which will damage your cylinder head valve's if timing belt goes bad. Hope this was very helpful.
Code P1361 = Intermittent Interruption In TDC 1 Sensor Circuit
Turns out Top Dead Center (TDC) sensor was bad. Yours is too.
This
sensor in located behind the timing chain cover on my 2001 civic. You
have to take the cover off to get to it. Honda dealer wanted $360 in
labor to change the sensor. Because it was in the same the location
Honda would have changed my timing chain for no extra labor charge. So I
went to the Honda dealer and got the sensor ($56) and went to the auto
parts store and got a timing chain, water pump, and new belts. Local
mechanic changed all these parts for $160 in labor (others wanted $230).
$130 for the sensor and timing chain and $30 more for the pump. I
probably could have hacked that timing chain cover off myself but that
is what thought would happen. A hack job. And it was time for a new
chain anyway. 92 plus degrees outside and the civic is running fine.
Big job. Have to remove timing belt first. Once belt is removed the water pump is then unbolted and replaced with new one. Then timing belt is reinstalled
Remove and raise upper hose at thermostat end and remove lower rad hose. Fill rad with a hose and watch for flow from bottom rad hose and/ or bottom rad hose connecton.......water should fall though rad easily. Honda rads are cheap.....any restriction....replace rad.
Remove thermostat....fill thermostat housing with hose and watch for water flow at bottom rad hose. Flush good.
Remove heater hoses.......flush back and forth until a good flow is present "With heater control set to hot" if no or poor flow....replace heater core.
Stop leak can plug everything.
Also.......not likely causing over heating....but ....at your mileage,if you do not know if the timing belt has been changed.....CHANGE IT NOW! Water pump is optional at this mileage.
Yes, there is a "bypass outlet" coolant hose that connects from the water pump inlet pipe (metal pipe that runs from back of water pump along engine block to lower radiator hose) to the intake manifold.

These water pumps are integral with the timing belt you must replace the timing belt with the water pump because the leaking water pump and antifreeze on the timing belt causes deterioration of rubber belt thereby causing imminent failure of timing belt destroying valves $$$ google" interference engine" for an explanation of interference engine
