It is possible that the squeeling you heard was the alternator belt squeeling and belt might have slipped/or broke off. If the alternator belt comes off or slips the electrical system will lose voltage and this can cause weird things to happen on the dash like the engine light coming on and the oil pressure gauge dropping. Inspect the belts for proper tension and wear. It is possible something may have came up from the road and got caught in the belt or alternator housing. Did you ever restart the vehicle? Did the vehicle act normally after?

Oil light goes on...had a dry stick 4 1/2 qts put in. no oil on ground. after oil change light went on at 70 miles.. on 15 secs then off for 5 miles then on again 15 secs--- off 4 miles--off 3 miles- off 2...

if it's not going onto the ground, and it's not being burned, check the positive crankcase ventilation and the exhaust gas recirculation valves for oil seepage...also check your air filter, if its got oil on it replace the pcv valve.

Sudden oil leak and engine noise

It looks like you drove your car with no oil in your engine, unfortunately you should have stopped the moment you started to hear the "rapping noise" since you could have severely damaged your engine. If the noise continues even if you have a normal oil reading you most likely would have to overhaul your engine since by driving it oil dry several parts may have resulted damaged.

95 jeep wrangler: gauge indicates 0 oil pressure

Wire on oil sending unit may have fallen off or sensor itself may have gone bad. Check both. If engine has no tapping noises, likely it's not a pressure problem.

2002 jeep wrangler oil pressure gauge drops

When the gauge is at 0, is there any noise from the engine (tick, knock etc?) I would have someone put a mechanical gauge on there and read true pressure.Your driving pressure seems OK but if the low number is "real" something is wrong!

1997 Jeep Wrangler oil pressure gauge not working

The gage is working because it is coming on sometimes. The oil pressure sending unit on the engine is starting to go. I would replace the oil pressure switch on the engine first.

Oil pressure gauge goes to 0 and car has a slight knock

What Make Model and Engine. I'm sure you have tried and oil change. Try hooking up a mechanical gauge to check the pressure.

Squeels at start for first two seconds

The squeeling could be from a worn belt or if oil drips on belt overnight. Replace the belt first to see if that fixes it.Good luck.

Oil pressure light comes on after driving on highway for 10 miles

Sounds like your sending unit sensor - if it was your pump going out, your engine would be history by now. Rule of thumb, if your oil check light ever comes on, it's usually too late to remedy the problem. You have a major issue, but since you've obviousely drove it quite a bit since then and it still hasn't seized up, I'm guessing you're ok...for now. Since you took it to a shop and they said you're ok, I'm assuming they checked your level and visually checked for leaks and found nothing. Either, you've got somethijng partially blocking your pick-up tube for the pump which is in your oil pan, or a electrical issue with the sensor. I would start by having someone check the sensor out and go from there...good luck.

Oil pressure drops at idle

If there is no engine noise associated with this ow oil press reading then replace the oil pressure sending unit on the engine, it is defective, this is common on all cars.
