I have problem mi corrolla 2005 check engine p2103

code p 2103 refers to throttle actuator (TAC) control system--circuit high===causes --wiring short to positive--TAC motor

i should be either in engine bay or side compartment in dash board

should be 10 or may be 15amp fuse

- Faulty Throttle Control Motor Relay
- Throttle Control Motor Relay harness is short
- Throttle Control Motor Relay circuit poor electrical connection

It is usually on the throttle body

P2103-tac means High Idle Speed

Hi it is most likely an air fault, check the air mass sensor and clean it up with carb cleaner, this sometimes fix's the fault so worth a go before buying anything else.

This would cause the fault you mention, Im not sure about the computer issue as I have never had any faults with toyota's ECU's they are normally very good that way.

Is the engine light on? if not then it is most likely to be the air sensor, get back to me if you are unsure.

You have a bad engine ECU just bring your car to your local toyota dealer and and they will replaced it for free if your vehicle has less than 80,000 miles.

make sure your odometer is not on trip, shut your car off, hold down the trip reset button on your gauges, and turn the key to the on position, not start. hold it till the little dashes stop blinking where the mileage usually is, and thats it

Did you have engine trouble codes checked? Parts stores will do it for free. Ask them to explain what the codes mean, and what they recommend. If you have any questions, post them here with the code #'s. The engine light can come on if the gas cap is loose, but after securing, should go off. How is the cars performance? Running ok, just engine light coming on?

I did exactly that on my Corolla CE recently. Pop the triangular plastic shield out on the inside, remove three nuts, disengage the electric line if you see one and that's it. If you want to get more specifics look the procedure up in the Haynes repair book for Corollas 2003-2005. By the way, the mirrors on Corrollas have, as so often, been constructed by people who never drove these cars. Mirrors get hit on and there should be a joint that allows the mirrors to fold inward. The Corrolla mirrors are still; they have no joint, so when they get hit they push the metal they are mounted on inward and later on you have a poor fit after chnaging them. These American-made Corrollas are in many respect the same **** as other American-made cars.
