45 psi at idel fuel regulator connected 55 PSI with regulatr having an applied vachum to it. thr ost impotrsnt thimg is whern it'd running does it hold 39 PSI with key on engine off and for at least 30 seconds. once you prine the pu,pump it will not old that pressuer then you have a bad check vavce in the pump. so the pump has to be replaced, On the high end it has to read 50 psi full throttle. if it does nor rhen you have a vachum leak or your manifold pressure is not holding the correct vachum. WHich could be caused by throttle plate opening all the way or the way or there is a eaning of a vachum leak from theinyake hose or heare. ope this seld.

SOURCE: Truck bogs down when I accelerate.

I've got 260K on a 2003 4.8 Silverado. Fuel pump has caused this same problem, 1 after market fuel pump lasted 20,000, the same replacement was 30,000 miles. I made my mechanic put the correct fuel pump from GM using the VIN . The other time I was losing power at about 180K miles it was the cat converter. Hope this helps

My fuel pump seems to be pumping gas but my van wont start 02 chevy venture cranks gets fire an gas but wont start

Just because it pumps gas doesn't mean it is at the exact pressure it should be? Most fuel pumps have a psi of 40 to 45 psi, your fuel pump could be pumping at 25 psi or less which is not enough to start your car even though you can see some fuel pumping out. A simple tool to check fuel pressure can be bought at any auto parts store, check the specs on the fuel pump for your 02 Chevy first to see at what pressure it works, then use the fuel pressure gauge to check it. Anything less than what the specs on your fuel pump are suppose to be and you have a bad fuel pump?

Let's say your fuel pump works at 43psi, you hook up the fuel pressure gauge and you find that it reads 25 to 30 psi, that means it's not enough fuel pressure to start your engine.

454 mechanical fuel pump , wont stay running

Not enough fuel pressure if this truck is fuel injected. In 1999 chevy fuel systems need at least 52 psi to open the popet valve inside the injector to allow fuel thru.Fuel pressure specs are 60-66 psi with on and engine off.

I have a 2002 Chevy Blazer with a 4.3. It has two engine codes, p0170 and p0172, which I believe are fuel rich bank one and two. It starts great, but after warming up, is very hard to start and requires...

Can you post the fuel pressure spec for us? You have the spider fuel system? When you use a gage and check proper fuel pressure, with the key off will the pressure hold for a bit? If it drops like a rock, you have a fuel pressure leak.
Smell of the crankcase oil dipstick, does it smell like gas? If so, either you don't change your oil and filter very often or you have a fuel leak getting into your crankcase. If the problem is the latter, you fix the problem then change oil and filter as many times as necessary to get rid of the gas.
Check the fuel pressure regulator and vac line.

I have a 2002 Chevy Blazer with a 4.3L engine. Engine codes p0172 and p0175. Replaced the fuel pump, and pressure is within spec. Also, new plugs and wires. What could be the problem?

The code indicates that you have a rich mixture on bank 1 and on bank 2. This is usually indicating the O2 sensor but it is not 100% It could be the fuel pressure regulator allowing too much fuel or it could be coolant sesor saying the engine is cold therefore requiring more fuel.Without having the vehicle hands on it is hard to tell but I hope I gave you a starting point.

2002 chevy siliverado will turn over, but will not start

I would verify fuel pressure is in spec.On the back of the motor on the drivers side you will find a shrader valve(kinda like a valve stem on a tire)Its just alittle larger. You can buy a fuel pressure gauge at your local parts house and they can give you the spec as well.If its not in spec the pump is in the gas tank.
