It is a failed wheel bearing.the hub and bearing comes with an abs sensor and when the bearing could not be located by the sensor it will turn on the abs light and make the car skip when braking.check to see if your not missing any brake fluid and that the truck is still able to brake.if all is good then change the faulty wheel bearing.if you dont want to invest right away just disconnect the connector for the abs to the bearing.braking will feel normal and youll just have the abs light on.

All 3 problems can be a leak or seal in caliper/cylinder look for leak if no leaks or broken lines ur brake problems work out to skipping is abs activating to stop vehicle abs light -can be connector out of clip to bad sensor need to have scanned to get proper code but check to make sure connectors in clips first-no pressure in brakes[brake pedal goes to floor] is a vacuum problem at power booster check lines to booster for breaks or leaks -

ABS, Parking break, and ESC light all stay on

On many vehicles, there is a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) that is used with the ABS system. If it fails, the ABS and BRAKE lights will come. As I don't have ESC, I can't vouch for it being involved, but it is related. Usually replacement of the defective sensor will clear all fault indications.

Gas and Theft light comes on when pressing the break.

Cluster warning lights

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

If the the abs module fails you still have breaks BUT if you need to apply the breaks to the floor the abs will not work which could allow you to go into a slide because of loss of traction. the abs system pumps the breaks to prevent your tires from locking up

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
Definitely an abs sensor issue. As a first course of action please disconnect the positive battery connector and let it sit for atleast 5mins. then reconnect it again. The system may need to be resetted to get rid of the problem.

If it still fails then please remove the abs sensor on the brakes and clean it. This can do the trick too.

Hope this helps and thank you for using Fixya! Have a good one!

Has anyone who has a achevia had promblems with the breaking system? Meaning when you hit the breaks does it skip?

I believe you are talking about the ABS system, some cars react differently but when you press on the brakes hard this is when it happins, if you are applying the brakes lightly and that is happining then you have an issue with the ABS distribution block valves, replacement is the only repair.

AWD LIGHT IS ON ??????!!!!!!!!!!

If, in fact, it is the ABS light.. then I would suspect a speed sensor. You'll need to hook it up to a computer to tell which code (and hence which sensor) is failing. The good news, is that ABS menas the ABS system is failing, not the cars normal breaking system. You can drive the 'forever' with the ABS light on and not have any difficulty with normal breaking. You just wil not have ABS. You have to descide if ABS is worth the $150-$200 repair on this vehicle. ($100 sensor, $75 install, $25 diagnostic check)

Abs brakes

check each abs sensor at the axels. they are typically the magnetic pick up type. the grooves on the axels should be free of debris. make sure the pick up is working by using a multimeter and checking the resistance of it. An OL reading indicates an open curcuit. If the sensors check good than check all lines, fittings, break pads and calipers of the break system, there are pressure sensors in the break system a leak could activate the ABS light. If all that checks out, check the technical service bullitens for info. It may be the ABS control module could be bad. Hope this helps
