Cant start my crown vic 1998

My crown vic will not start i put a new starter and checked the battery and they are both good. dont know what it can be.

    i know it cant be the ingition switch becasue if i put jumper cables it cranks right up. but a friend of mine told me it could be a relay switch but i dont know where it is and i dont have the owners manual. help me!!!!

Check both battery terminels for corrosion and that they are tight, check earth to bodywork, also check earth from engine to bodywork.

buy a cheap volt meter check voltage on both sides of the starter seleniod on the fenderwell if you have 12 volts on both sides while cranking test voltage at starter if you have 12 volts at starter with fully charged battery and it doesnt start you will need a starter it also sounds like you might need an alternator once you can get it started

find the fuse fo the keyless enter and take it out and that way you will know if that the problem or something else give these websites a try www.autozone.com and www.alldatadiy.com cause the keyless enter will short out sometimes wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

Can't start my cron vic 1998 battery sign comes on and off but battery is good alternater is good
i have a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. you have a short in your wiring harness leading to your battery. this happens every time with these cars, good battery-good starter-good alternator but car still wont turn over because the power from the battery isnt able go directly to the motor. check your relay circuits and harness.
