I just bought a 2001 306 lx estate deisel its my first deisel,should it be so loud?

Jack up the car and look at the exhaust system..If you cant see or feel any holes or leaks then it could be up on the exhaust manifold..a peugot should not sound like a V8 diesel. you really shouldnt be able to tell its diesel until you floor it

That model was built from 1997 to 2002. So as long as you take the door off one the same shape as yours between those years it should fit. So sedan door for a sedan car, estate door for a estate car and so on.

yes you can but the error codes are not always a direct path to whats wrong. You often still need some good mechanical knowledge to identify the real problem.

Yes, I would say it is the head gasket again. Have the head checked for flat surface once removed to replace the gasket.

if you need a manual then this job is best entrusted to a professional ,if you do anything wrong and the valves bounce the piston?? this is about a 3hr job.

diagnostic plug should be below the steering'
and to take plug take cover off on top of engine and you willl plug wires
