I think there is a ignition problem , might try replacing it , of course you cant turn the steering if the key wont turn , its a theft prevention device.

I do believe you must of turned the steering wheel too far to left or right, YES ? you need to turn the steering wheel as hard as you can toward the direction they are facing (your wheels) , at same time try to unlock your KEYS, you might have to put some effort into it, it will come !

Every time I try to turn the key, it won't turn. The steering wheel is NOT locked. Is my ignition switch gone bad? I have a 2002 Nissan altima

The key is worn out. Take the key and your VIN number. Located in the windshield drivers side at the bottom or on the drivers door or in the door jam . Take them to the dealer and they will cut u a new key.

My steering wheel keeps getting stuck

Modern vehicles are fitted with a steering lock which is an anti-theft device. It is fitted to the steering column usually below the steering wheel. The lock is combined with the ignition switch and engaged and disengaged either by a mechanical ignition key or electronically from the vehicles electronic control unit. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The ignition is stuck on my 99 Nissan Altima. We

Have you tried to turn the wheel far to the left as you try to turn the key? Also try to turn the key backwards in the ignition while holding wheel to the left. If those don't work, maybe try sliding the key in with a little WD-40 as this will lubricate the ribs in the ignition slightly and just insert/remove key slowly and quickly a few times and then try the steps above.

Does the car have a key release button? Sometimes these get stuck with the wheel turned slightly and the ribs of the ignition will not close on the key to allow for operation of the ignition.

Let me know,

Key does not come out steering wheel is not locked

if the key will not come out but is turned to the correct position to be removed, then it sounds like it needs an ignition lock cylinder (this cylinder also directly actuates the steering wheel lock

1998 nissan altima gxe -ignition problem

Hi what is happening is that your turn off your car and left the wheels turned to one side and specially if your car is parke in a hill what you have to do is to force the steering wheel to the same direction of your wheels this will free up the ignition switch it is going to be hard let me tell you but it will work and this is why your shift don't work once you have the ignition switch free then your shift will work again
