I have a 2003 lexus gs 300..the check engine light came on and the VSC OFF traction control came on and it stays on...i tried to turn if off, but the light just stays on

VSC is a system that helps prevent side skids and help stabilize the vehicle while turning on a curve. Is the Check Engine Light on also? (picture of an engine). If the check engine light is on then have someone fix that first because if there is a fault in the engine controls then your vehicle will turn off the VSC system automatically. If no Check Engine Light then either a re-calibration by a repair shop, a bad part in the VSC or the switch is turned off.

you have multiple cylinder missfire 1,2,3,5 check your spark plugs, plug wires and coils could even be a o2 sensor

Yes the O2 sensor preheater problem will turn on the VSC light, see the complaint often, why? don't know

In most cases the O2 being replaced cures the code but here is the full story.
Possible causes- Air-Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit open shorted to ground
- Air-Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Air-Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit
- Air-Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1 circuit fuse
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

take to local parts store to retrieve code vsc/trac are in failsafe because of thcheck engine light once you have code then we can diag problem with engine

I have a a 99 gs 300, check engine light is on as well as the vsc light. What is that and needs to be to done to fix it.

you was lucky it still started and the immobilisor didnt come on like on a merc or VW,dealer only encrypted software from 2005

there is a switch under the dash to turn the vsc on and off. its on the driver side

My 2000 Lexus GS 400 just had the VSC/VSC off light and the check engine light come on. I would have to push the accelarator peddle all the way down to get it to go. Took it to the Toyota dealer and the code pulled up as the Throttle Position Sensor was out. Purchased one and having it put in. Will update if this fixes the problem.

Please note that when the engine ECU sees a problem, all 3 of those lights come on at once. What you need to do is have someone put a scan tool on your car and check the DTC code(s). More often than not, a loose, faulty or aftermarket fuel filler cap will def set the light on.
