I have a 2002 GMC sierra 1500. Instrument Lights Not Working

I have a 2002 GMC sierra 1500. The instrument lights (dash lights) no longer come on. When I turn the dimmer switch up to full on position then the interior light and dash lights come on. I have checked all fuses and they seem fine. Thanks, Gene

When dash lights don't work odds are the tail lights don't work either.Sounds like Dimmer switch may be a problem.

My dash lights aren't working. I've checked all the fuses and they are fine.

Hi Rblack, As the fuses are all okay the most likely cause is that the bulbs that illuminate the instrument panel have blown. If you look at the instrument panel I'm sure there are some screws which hold it in. Remove those and gently pull the instrument cluster forward and check the lights for operation. Regards John

Flickering lights on 2004 gmc sierra. alternator changed

Hi J, The ground connections are on each of the units. that is to say there is one power feed to the dome and another to the instrument panel. From there each door is separately grounded via each of the door switches. If one is rusted, contaminated or damaged and not operating correctly, it will cause the dome light and the door warning on the instrument panel to flicker. regards John

I just want to know if dash lights and radio lights can be changed?

I have never seen one you couldn't change. You will probably have to take the instrument cluster and the radio out. Little bulbs plug in the back of the inst cluster. The radio might have a bulb down through the top or you might have to take the face off the radio to find it. I have changed both before.

Can't find the fuse that controls the tail lights for a 1992 GMC sierra. Our tail lights don't work and the instrument light (where the speedometer is) doesn't work. The list in the manual isn't clear

The fuse you are looking for should be in the middle of the fuse box and is marked instrument cluster. Chances are that it is good. On a GM if the tail lights and dash lights go out at the same time that is a sure sign that you need a new headlight switch. Hope this helps.
