SOURCE: 2006 F150 I lost power to drivers seat, power

Might want to check the driver's side door sill for a splice that is corroded.

In the SCab, I have seen this closer to the driver's side kick panel, where the hood release is at ( still in the door sill ), on the SuperCrew, I have seen this splice at the back, where the wires turn up the C-pillar.
Here are some pictures from other people that had this problem.

The front, the wire with the bad splice was reported to be a blue w/ White stripe wire.

When it is found in the back, it is a violet wire

If you check the fuses for those items, you will find the fuses are fine, but when you check the switch for the item, there is no power.

It will take some time, but checking for a broken splice, that is not obvious, but the chance is high you will find one in the sea of wires in the door sill.

SOURCE: Drivers seat heater, sideview mirror switch

The wires in the seat heater will burn out if they are left on HI for too long. You can take the seat out of the car, remove the seat covering, and solder some new wires in place of the fried ones. Then put it all back together and hope you don't get a shock in your **** when you flip the switch for the first time. I just did this to my 2000 TL today and it took about 3 hrs to get it all worked out. For step by step instructions go to: http://joshsworld.com/cars/acura-tl-seat-heater-fix/

Drivers side power mirror, pedal adjust stops working

Hello Judy Tatum,

Your drawings are available (free) on-line at BBB Industries
(see below: registration required)... No TSB (tech service bulletins) address your issue(s).

the fact that two troubles are SIMMULTANIOUSLY failing points DIRECTLY to their common CIRCUIT MODULE...!!
I am suspecting you are having an intermittent (power) issue
with your DRIVER'S Seat memory module (BCM)... 14C708.

If... and only if ...
you ALSO have power seats... AND they still work...
(
your fuse is the same 5 AMP for both) ... THEN...
You can cross that main control fuse OFF of the suspect list.

Your vehicle IMMEDIATELY gives 2 different drawings...

There are TWO different OPTIONS... but the DETAILED schematic drawings show every wire color and connector between the mirrors, pedals, switches and That CONTROL MODULE.

MY ANALYSIS would indicate FINDING your module... 14C708 and carefully checking EACH & EVERY connector COMMON to your pedal control AND your mirror control...

You will find a loose (or badly corroded) one.
((comment me back... I will tell you how to clean & refurbish)).

Fear not your door sills, kick panels and carpeting come up pretty easily... Your car pops together really nicely.

My very best suggestion is to beg, borrow or buy the FACTORY+WORKSHOP+MANUAL... in particular... electrical is in volume three... Reasonably priced on CD... (I use paper).

Else your...
DRIVER'S Seat memory module... 14C708 needs to be "SPARED-OUT" to test a new/previously-owned one.

(Pictures are illustrative ONLY... VERIFY your own numbers).

Hope this helps!

Driver door or seat module. All of these components are controlled by s module. You'll need a scan tool to properly diagnose.

Memory seats adjust on there own as well as mirrors

BCM has nothing to do with this function , MMM - memory mirror module !
Memory Mirror System Operation
The MMM is capable of storing mirror position for 2 different drivers. Mirror position is determined by both horizontal and vertical position sensors in each of the power mirrors. The MMM supplies a reference voltage and a low reference to these sensors and determines mirror position through the horizontal and vertical position signal circuits.
The MMM receives power through the battery supply voltage circuit and the MIR/LOCK fuse and a constant ground source. Any time that battery voltage is disconnected and then connected from the MMM, the MMM will enter the mirror relearn mode. The mirror relearn mode can also be commanded using a scan tool. Refer to Memory Mirror Module Learn for further information. The memory switch receives power through the battery supply voltage circuit and the MIR/LOCK fuse. The MMM upon receipt of a memory switch signal input, a class 2 message from the SIC or a class 2 message from the PCM indicating that the transmission is in park, will then supply battery voltage and ground to the appropriate power mirror motors through the mirror motor control circuits to move the mirrors to the predetermined positions.

DTC B1586, B1596, B1616, or B1626
The mirror horizontal and vertical position sensors are potentiometers. The Memory Mirror Module (MMM) provides these sensors with a 5 volt reference circuit and a low reference circuit. The MMM monitors the horizontal and vertical position sensor signal circuits which change values based on mirror position. These voltage values are used to determine mirror position and can be set into memory. When the MMM receives a memory recall request, the MMM will control the power mirror to the memory position based on the horizontal and vertical position sensor signal values.

Install a scan tool.
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
With the scan tool, observe the mirror horizontal and vertical position parameters in the Memory Mirror Module (MMM) data list.
Operate both the left and right mirrors through the full range of movements.
Does the scan tool indicate that the left and right mirror horizontal and vertical position parameters are within the specified range?

Memory Seat System Components
The memory seat system consists of the following components:
• Power seat switch assembly
• Memory recall switch assembly
• Horizontal adjuster motor
• Front vertical adjuster motor
• Rear vertical adjuster motor
• Recline adjuster motor
• Memory seat module
• Memory mirror module
• SEAT 25A circuit breaker
• MIR/LOCK 3A fuse

Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop !

'04 Ford F150 S-Crew Lariat. power adjustable pedals, power seat, and power mirror were all working until a couple of weeks ago. Now, none of these work, the fuse my manual says to check is good. Is...

There are some relays located in the fuse box under the hood.( Drivers side, located directly in front of the power booster for the brakes. open the lid & you will find 2 rows of fuses & 5 relays) you will have to refer to the owners manual for the diagram for the electrical fuses & relays.

My side mirros dont work

The exterior mirrors:
  • are controlled by power controls on the LH front door trim panel.
  • are of a foldaway design.
  • may contain turn signal indicators.
  • may be heated when the heated back window glass is activated.
  • may have a programmable recall memory option.
Driver Seat Module
The power driver seat and power exterior mirrors are controlled by the driver seat module (DSM) only when the vehicle is equipped with the programmable/recall memory option.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Power Exterior Mirror Operation
The power exterior mirrors are controlled by the DSM and are operational all the time, whether the ignition switch is on or off. Using the power exterior mirror switch, the driver can adjust the driver and passenger exterior mirrors four ways.

  • Interior mirror
  • Central junction box (CJB) fuse
  • Circuitry
  • Exterior mirror control switch

  1. If the vehicle is equipped with memory exterior mirrors and the concern remains after the inspection, connect the diagnostic tool to the data link connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel. Select the vehicle to be tested from the diagnostic tool menu.
    • Check to make sure the program card is correctly installed.
    • Check the connections to the vehicle.
    • Check the ignition switch position.
