Same problem trunk release buttom doesn't work on lexus 330 es but key does work

remove the back seat and dust panel
i believe the lexus trunk latch was equipped with an escape ring.
you can use a broom handle to pull the ring down

Have a local shop listen to this.

You can buy a cheap battery charger that plugs into the lighter socket that will allow you to charge the battery enough to operate the trunk release.

CHeck glove box, there is an over-ride switch for the trunk release button.

if you enter the car after you used remote starter,dont depress your brake.you need to put your key(insert) into your igniton barrel
and turn it in to ON possition(dont crank the starter) now you can depress your brake to cancel the remote start.and your door lock and trunk maybe the installer didnt connect the wiring from remote starter to your car...

Check the valet trunk button in the glovebox. if thats not selected then its most likely the switch. however its unlikely, ive never seen one go bad before.

IT was the switch in the glovebox. Didn't even know there was one there, but it is and it will lock out the dash trunk switch if not properly set. It was probably bumped when they changed out the interior air filter.

you will need to remove the rear seat to gain access to the trunk. once inside you should be able to manually release the lock. you may have to rip out the trunk lid trim.

A dealer or qualified locksmith can make a key from the VIN, provided the lock cylinders are original. Usually they will require proof of ownership before doing so.
