There is a warm up valve on the throttle body(should have 2 small coolant hoses). remove the valve and have someone start the car while you block the port to the valve on the intake. If that clears up the problem you can cut a piece of cardboard to mount in between the valve and intake.should straighten it out.

As I said there is a "Warm up Valve". Not the IAC which is notorious for creating your problems. There are 2 small 12mm hoses and an electrical conn. on the valve. Should be behind the intake.Look for the hoses..

I recently changed the sparks plugs on my 2007 Nissan Versa and now I am getting random idle problems while my car is in park. The car will idle from 1400 rpms them all of a sudden jump up to 2100 rpms and...

If your check engine light is on have it scanned for fault codes. Also check to make sure you don't have a vacuum leak, you could of pulled a hose loose accidently when you changed your plugs.
Signals from the oxygen sensor, and/or a bad throttle position will also cause engine surge.
Good luck, i hope this helps.

My 1989 prelude looses rpms when i press the brakes

Hi,
Sounds like your power brake Vacuum Booster has a leak. The vacuum
leak will cause the engine to lose RPM.
You should have it checked out as it will eventually start affecting your
brakes.

My 1989 Honda crx si surges on the rpms. It will go from about 1800- 900 rpms and back again. What's wrong?

It's called hunting. You need to clean out the EAVC unit in the intake manifold. Take off the air filter and housing, run carb cleaner through the intake for 20 minutes or so.

Next bleed the radiator by taking the rad cap off and start the car, let the fan kick in twice (about 20 mins again) and the air bubbles will have been forced out.

Take the car for a spin and the vote for me when it's fixed :)

98 prelude base model engine spitting in rain

Sounds like it could be either a split vacuum hose or your idle control valve is faulty.

89 Honda Prelude failing emissions rich

is everything stock? and you have catalitic converter in place?

Stop by Schucks auto supply and have them run the codes. i'm sure there is a code if you cant pass emissions. your check engine light bulb is probably out.

and usually the first cause is the first o2 sensor.

1994 prelude h23 2.3 non vtec 5 spd at start up no cel- smooth idle. under accel it jerks and hesitates but rpms stay solid, however unmoving. strong smell of gas. low power. after driving a few minuted...

Try replacing Oxygen sensor (top of exhaust pipe just rear of engine; 22mm ring-spanner job after cutting wires); though normally comes up with Code 1 on the MIL, this is the right bunch of symptoms.
