2001 Ford E150, V6. Stutter/hesitation upon acceleration. Getting lean codes, P0171, P0174. Resealed Upper & lower intake, injector seals, replaced mass air flow sensor, replaced PCV valve, same problem. Infact, it seems worse. Idles smooth but when you give it gas, it hesitates and backfires, if you give it gas very slowly its ok.

I do have a 2000 5.0 ... @michaelheiland123654 To dothis job, you have to remove the alternator, unbolt the AC compressor, remove upper intake manifold, remove fuel rail,remove all injectors, ... P0171 & P0174 indicate Lean burning on banks 1 and 2. The most common cause is a dirty or defective MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor. Other causes are bad fuel filters or a broken vacuum line.
P0171 is a lean fuel condition . The computer reflashed has nothing to do with it . Vacuum leak intake manifold probably . If both P0171 & P0174 were back could be fuel pump low flow or restricted fuel filter . or O2 sensor problem or mass airflow sensor. I know this is an old post, but I found the solution for my 01' Yukon P0171 and P0174. I have changed all the vacuum line and the PCV, throtle body gasket, MAF, plugs wires, fuel pressure reg. All was changed and the codes always came back.
I finally noticed the purge valve on the manifold was constantly purging. I replaced the purge valve abnd code has not been back. It was $40.
