KNOCKING NOISE AT TOP OF ENGIN PLUS NO WATER AS A LEAK IN AIR CON PIPE IT OVER HEATED NO PRESSURE IN WATER PIPE AN NOW STARTED KNOCKING

    where the water goes in theres a pipe runs off to back that is leaking i stoped straight away the knocking started later i started it and o thumping came from top of engin which speeds up with reves

    the water seems to be coming from pipe an not in engin as oil is fine an the level thanks for help

    sorry its a rear heater the pipe runs too nowt to do with ac i have it in garrage who say head gone thank you so much

Not sure if i understand everything, the ac,will drain condensation water under the car,that a sure sighn that its working properly,the air conditioning system has almost nothing to do with the engine and the coolant system,directly,it runs off a belt powered by the engine,if you overheated your engine ,bad enough,meaning that the second you noticed the car was hot you didnt immeaditly pull over and shut it down,or even if you did.it may not have been soon enough,remove the oil fill cap look at the bottom of it for sighns of antifreeze or water,brown milky substance looks like choclate milk,

My guess is a bent rod caused by hydro locking a cylinder with water. I've seen it alot in mustangs and crown vics. Your water soaked air filter is a dead giveaway.

Water leak check:
1. Plenum chamber leaks at loom exits (Accident damage or corrosion)
2. Water leak at air con fan inlet (Accident damage or gasket wear)
3. Water leaking from air con heater pipe (corroded water pipe to/from heat exchanger)

What can make an engine start knocking? it has not over heated, there's
You should be able to use a long piece of rubber hose to listen around the engine and find the source of the noise. I am assuming you have checked oil pressure.

My 08 C-RV makes a loud growling noise at the lower front end when started up and idleing, the garage think that it is the air con compressor. anyone had a similar problem?
The drive belt tensioner pulleys are much more common.

When the ignition is on a knocking noise comes from under the dash on the passenger side
I have the same problem i think.
The noise is something to do with the air con inlet gate???
Q. is there a fuse to isolate this as the position of the problemis above the glove box and can only be accessed with the dash board out and that would be very expensive.

No if the oil light has flickered you have oil pressure loss some time just belive the sensor do help us out. lifter do not cause oil pressure loss pressure is built in the rotation of the crankshaft. The knock under the plenum will point you to that cylinder that is affected, (main bearing) as for a 1995 the injectors can only cause a misfire but no knocking noise,will they honor the warranty

You have a leak in your air conditioning compressor Your system works on the reheat principle All air passing through the system is cooled and reheated before it enters the cabin this sould be dehumidified air but it passes through the heater core and sence the air is not dehumidified you are getting condansation as the air flows the heater core that is heated by the engine heat and the water is from condencation because of the leak in the ac compressor The unit is a press fit in the center of it and fials unfortinatly a lot with this disgien of compressor

Normally when you press the A/C button when the car is running you should hear a noise when the compressors clutch engages after three seconds, if you don't hear the noise, there could be a possibility there is no refrigerated gas pressure in the system, possibly from a leak somewhere, try to find the air-conditioned pipe with black cap screw and I'm screw

Waterleak nopressure in hose loud knocking at top of engin
That doesn't sound good. It appears you have 1 of 2 issues. The no coolant is a bad/blown head gasket or cracked engine block. When the head gasket is bad or block is cracked the coolant leaks into the cylinder blows out the exhaust (have you noticed the smell of coolant or white smoke in the exhaust) then runs by the pistons and into the oil pan (check your oil level it is probably way high) where it mixes with your oil and reduces its viscosity/lubrication. After prolonged driving with coolant/water in the motor your bearing will wear prematurly and cause parts to become looser then they are (hense the knocking sound). If you continue driving with the knock the motor will have a mechanical breakdown and more then likely throw a rod. THis is usually a motor swap at this point. Some mechanics will replace the bearings but either or you will nee extensive work to correct. The head gaskets need to be replaced/checked and the head for warpage/seepage and possibly a cracked block plus fixing the damage to the lower end. Its usually cheaper to purchase a new/used motor as this is somehting that will cost $1000's of dollars so please pick a reputable mechanic for this kind of work... If you have an extended warranty this is the time to use it..

Also, this could be an exhaust leak that is being closed as the manifold and/or block heats up.
